Patrick Yoerger graduated from Eastwind School of Holistic Healing in Iowa City, Iowa in 2003, where he completed Eastwind's Energy Medicine Specialty program. At Eastwind, Patrick focused on Shiatsu massage technique; he has also studied Thai massage technique at the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai.

In addition to Shiatsu and Thai massage techniques, Patrick specializes in Trigger Point Therapy and Active Isolated Stretching. As a Chiropractic Assistant, Patrick works closely with Dr. Deden to deliver the benefits of these therapies to the chiropractic patient.

Patrick is particularly influenced by the principles of Trigger Point Therapy, which focuses on the role of myofascial trigger points in the referral of pain. The goal of this approach is to diagnose pain patterns, locate trigger points, and release them through applied pressure.

The trigger point paradigm informs all of Patrick's bodywork; he believes Shiatsu, for example, which focuses on energy channels, works best when combined with Trigger Point Therapy. Patrick likes to help his patients understand their pain referral patterns and he provides suggestions, when appropriate, for self-management of trigger points.

Patrick is an Iowa native, born and raised in DeWitt, Iowa. He lives in Iowa city with his partner and three children. Patrick earned his Bachelors degree in Anthropology at the University of Iowa. An avid traveler, his interest in other cultures has taken him to many distant locations.

Patrick is a state licensed and NCBTMB certified Massage Therapist. He is also a trained Chiropractic Assistant. A long-time enthusiast of chiropractic, Patrick joined the clinic, formerly known as the Bradley Center, in 2004, where he has worked closely with Dr. Deden and his patients for the past six years.

In addition to his work with Dr. Deden at Washington Street Chiropractic, Patrick also sees clients for Shiatsu massage.
